Music Ministry welcomes those willing to share their God-given gift of music with our community! All music ministers volunteer their time and talent to heighten the liturgy through hymns and songs of praise. There are currently three weekend Masses featuring music accompaniment via organ, piano, flute, and cello, with varying numbers of vocalists depending on the Mass time. No experience in ensembles or the ability to read music is necessary. We gladly invite those who feel called to sing and/or play for the Lord. New members may join at any time during the year.
The adult choir, consisting of those high school aged and older parishioners, meets once a week on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the church. The adult choir sings at 10 A.M. Mass throughout the year but takes a break from weekly practicing during the summer months. It's a friendly group who enjoy learning new music and singing in parts. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask our Music Director, or stop by the organ after any of our weekend liturgies.
Children in grades 3-8 are welcome to join our monthly Seton Church Children’s Choir. Practice is held on the 3rd Saturday of the month October through May at 3:30 pm in the Edrich Room (school building entrance near church). Then the children lead the music at the Mass that follows practice, 5 p.m. on the 3rd Saturday of the month from October through May at 5:00 pm as well as a Christmas Eve Mass.
Cantors lead the singing at the weekend masses by proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm and sung acclamations. Parishioners with necessary musical skills are encouraged to cantor. While an audition is required to cantor, those also willing to learn are invited to train to be a cantor.
Skilled instrumentalists (ex. trumpet, cello, violin, flute) are invited to share their talents. Audition is required.
Director of Parish Music, Barbara Blasch, through the Parish Office 513-575-0119, email [email protected] or stop by the organ and piano and speak with Barb after Mass.
